Karen Taylor-Bass is gifted.

For almost three decades she has taken a solid approach to creating unique media campaigns, taking under-performing or unknown brands from obscurity to notoriety.

Karen has created strategic public relations, branding, and marketing campaigns for corporations, luxury brands, celebrities, athletes, and entrepreneurs. Her talent is crafting engaging media campaigns while simultaneously securing media placements. Karen’s placements range from the Associated Press, ABC News, Washington Post, USA Today, Yahoo News, Oprah, New York Times, AOL Parenting to Entrepreneur magazine.

Bass started out as a fundraiser working for the United Negro College Fund and United Way of NYC, to raise funds for various charities represented by the United Way. Bass exceeded her target fundraising goal by 30% within the first year and started to hone her skills as a communicator, writer and presenter to tap into her passion as a media expert.

Always up for a juicy challenge, Karen left the world of fundraising and embarked on a career in entertainment. A lover of music, she learned from her bosses at Double XXposure, EMI, Sony Music, and Time-Warner on how to write and execute award-winning campaigns to empower and engage consumers. Karen created memorable campaigns from Rap, Jazz, Neo Soul, Pop, R&B and Latin.  Artists directly impacted by Karen’s gift includes but not limited to: Arrested Development, GangStarr, Dianne Reeves, Boy George, D’Angelo, Jill Scott, Massive Attack, Mariah Carey and Proyecto Uno. The National Basketball Association (NBA) representatives tapped Bass to create campaigns for Chris Webber and future hall of famer, Ray Allen.

That’s not to say Karen’s accomplishments haven’t come without any bumps in the road. Following the birth of her youngest child, Karen suffered from post partum depression, lost her confidence and took a three-year hiatus from public relations.

Bass understands what it is to press reset and change the course of one’s path by embracing setbacks. “I’ve been through a lot mentally, spiritually and professionally upon giving birth to my daughter at the tender age of 40. With that said, I bring determination and courage to each campaign, project and client I work with because I now understand the power of pressing reset for one’s brand.”

Bass has been featured as a PR Expert and ‘Brand’ Mom in several media outlets including: Dr. Oz, CNN, BET, NBC Today, Fox-TV, ABC-TV Here and Now, WPIX-11, Entrepreneur, Essence, Newsday, NY Daily News and more.

Bass has authored a best-selling book (peaked at #18, Amazon) on public relations and branding.
